Warriors Overcome 17-Point Deficit to Secure Fifth Consecutive Home Win

On Friday, the Golden State Warriors continued their streak of come-from-behind victories, beating the New Orleans Pelicans 108-99 at Chase Center. This marked the Warriors’ fifth consecutive home win, tying their longest winning streak of the year.[0] The Dubs have now won 10 of their last 11 home games, shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three. Klay Thompson led the team in scoring with 27 points, followed by Jordan Poole with 34 and CJ McCollum with 19.

The Warriors had to overcome a significant first-half deficit, trailing by as many as 17 points.[1] However, the Dubs rallied, outscoring the Pelicans 33-22 in the second quarter to pull to within three before completing the comeback in the second half.[0] The Warriors held their opponents to no more than 22 points in each of the last three quarters after conceding 35 points in the first.[0] In the past four games, The Dubs limited their adversaries to an average of 100.3 points per game.[0]

The Warriors have now won four straight games after trailing by 10 or more in each game for the first time in over 25 years.[0] Klay Thompson hit at least four 3-pointers for the 29th time this season, while Jonathan Kuminga recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals on 9-for-13 shooting from the field with a game-high +13 plus/minus.

The Warriors are now 34-30 on the season, in sole possesion of the fifth seed in the Western Conference.[2] The Suns are one game ahead of them for the fourth seed in the West, while the Mavericks, who are currently sixth, are two games behind.[2] With Steph Curry expected to return on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena with opening tip off scheduled for 12:30 PM Pacific, the Warriors are hoping to secure the fourth seed in the Western Conference ahead of home battles against the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.[3]
